About us...

Cwmni'r Frân Wen provides exciting, challenging and inspiring theatre of the highest quality for children and young people which encourages them to look at the world anew.

We aim to:

Create productions of the highest quality possible
Offer ground breaking productions in terms of content and staging
Reflect the identity and life of contemporary Wales
Create work which is full of intensity which celebrates the cultural differences in our society
Develop innovative new writing in the Welsh language
Mentor new talent
Ensure the inclusion of children and young people in all aspects of the Company's work
Consult with children and young people, the wider community and professional practitioners with regard to the Company's provision and direction
Develop participation opportunities for children and young people
Promote theatre for children and young people
Provide productions in Welsh and English
Recognise theatre as a life long learning tool
Nurture appreciation of a performance as a cultural experience as well as an eductaional experience
Nurture a critical audience which has high expectations of the theatre

Cwmni'r Frân Wen employs four permanent members of staff:

Artistic Director: Iola Ynyr
Operations Manager: Nia Jones
Marketing and Engagement Officer: Malan Wilkinson
Administrative Assistant: Olwen Mai Williams
BRAIN Project Manager: Ffion Haf Jones
Trainee Technician: Dylan Wyn Roberts

Up to 60 artists including actors, stage managers, musicians, designers, composers and writers are employed or commissioned each year.
